About Louise Naples

Hello! And welcome to my website!  However you got here, I hope you enjoy your visit, and learning about my quilts.

Quilting is my avocation;  it allows me to express my creativity and display my handiwork.

Some people love clothes, some people love jewelry, or gadgets, or gardens.   I love fabric!  I can’t get enough!  I enjoy auditioning fabrics to see which  combinations  of colors  inspire me.  Then I find a pattern I like, or design one myself.  Some quilts utilize just four  fabrics, and others require three dozen.

I use all cotton fabric, batting, backing, and thread.  This insures that any possible shrinkage is equal across the piece.

Taking quilting classes and learning new techniques and sharing ideas with other quilters is a great joy for me.  I love quilt shows, and exhibits, and will stop into any quilt shop I encounter in my travels, and  I never leave a shop without purchasing some fabric!  I have my “stash” stashed all over my house.

Over the years, I have made more and more complex designs, pouring through books and magazines for inspiration.  I love that my quilts, whether sold, or given as gifts, go out into the world and bring happiness to those who use them.

If you have any questions about what you see here, don’t hesitate to drop me a line at louise@louisenaplesquiltmaker.com.  Quilts are available on commission.

Hi Louise:

I am a long-arm quilter from Alberta Canada, I as well made the Amish with a Twist and I have been scouting the web for some ideas and I was lead to you. Would there be any way I could get the name of the quilting pattern and the thread color that you used on yours. I think it is stunning. Most of the Amish with a Twist I have found was done custom.

Thank you.

Hi Nita
I sent this out for long arm quilting as I didn’t want to make any mistakes after completing the top. I do all my own quilting on my home sewing machine except for king sized pieces. The pattern is an edge-to-edge all over scroll that was chosen by my long arm quilter. I believe this is a common programmed stitching pattern known to most long-arm quilters. We selected a variegated thread that contained most of the colors in the quilt top. I too had looked at custom ideas, but thought many of them were too confusing, too busy, and too cumbersome. This pattern just sweeps gently over the whole. I hope this helps.
